Takeoff was killed in Houston on November 1, 2022, less than a month later, so that album is the last project he released in his lifetime. This guide covers the songs, the album, and what happened next, and then explains where the viral Hotel Lobby trend comes from.

Who Quavo and Takeoff were
Takeoff (Kirshnik Ball, born June 18, 1994) began rapping with his uncle Quavo. They met Offset in grade school and the three became Migos, according to Wikipedia. The group's best-known hit is "Bad and Boujee" (with Lil Uzi Vert), which reached No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100 for the week of January 21, 2017, according to Wikipedia.
Quavo and Takeoff each released a solo album in 2018, and in 2022 they turned to a project as a pair. Rolling Stone reported in October 2022 that the two said Migos was still a group but on an indefinite hiatus, and that the duo was a way to build on the chemistry they already had (Rolling Stone).
Unc & Phew: the songs in order
The duo's name is a shortened "uncle" and "nephew" (Wikipedia). Their singles, with release dates from the album's Wikipedia page:

"Hotel Lobby" came out amid speculation that Migos was splitting, because Offset was not on it (Wikipedia). Its music video was directed by Keemotion and Quavo and pays homage to the 1998 film Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas. On October 31, 2022, the day before Takeoff died, they released the video for "Messy".
The album: Only Built for Infinity Links
Only Built for Infinity Links came out on October 7, 2022, through Quality Control Music and Motown. Guest appearances include Mustard, YoungBoy Never Broke Again, Young Thug, Gunna, Summer Walker, Birdman and Gucci Mane. A few picks to start with, going by the track list and features:

The title is a nod to Raekwon's 1995 debut album Only Built 4 Cuban Linx..., and Quavo said in the press release that they wanted to pay tribute to rap duos such as Raekwon and Ghostface, Outkast and The Throne (Universal Music Canada). It debuted at No. 7 on the Billboard 200 with 33,000 album-equivalent units. After Takeoff's death it climbed on the chart to No. 12, according to Wikipedia.
What happened next

A public "Celebration of Life" was held at State Farm Arena in Atlanta on November 11 (Wikipedia). On June 25, 2023, Quavo and Offset reunited on stage at the BET Awards to perform "Hotel Lobby" as a tribute to Takeoff (USA Today).

Where the Hotel Lobby trend comes from
In 2026 "Hotel Lobby" became a social video trend. The clip behind it is the duo's performance of the song on A COLORS SHOW, filmed against an orange backdrop with the two trading verses into a shared microphone. People used AI tools to put other faces on the two performers, as XXL and Complex describe. Complex(https://www.complex.com/music/a/markelibert/quavo-takeoff-hotel-lobby-ai-trend-tiktok) also reported that some fans pushed back and said the performance should be treated as a memory of Takeoff.
That is a good reason to be careful with the trend. Use your own face and photos of people who have agreed to appear, say in the caption that a video is AI-generated, and do not use somebody else's recording or footage without permission. Our guide to the Hotel Lobby trend compares the main ways to make a version, and Hotel Lobby trend ideas has ten duet ideas for friends, couples and pets.
